East London Museum scientist selected for prestigious ornithology congress

East London Museum ornithologist Dr Phil Whittington has been selected to participate in the prestigious 28th International Ornithological Congress (IOC) in August this year.

Presented by the International Ornithologists’ Union, the congress is the world’s largest summit on avian biology, covering a wide range of fields from ecosystems to molecules, linking basic and applied research and nurturing education and outreach.

Dr Whittington will present research based on his monitoring of birds in the East London Industrial Development Zone.
